In 2000, we recognized the need for expanding short term mission opportunities for adults. We decided that we would explore the possibility of short-term construction missions.

The Rev. Dan Klooster, Executive Director of Gateway, Bob Lakemore, a building contractor, who was building for the poor in Mexico and Bud Stromberg, a member of the World Mission Committee, Diocese of Fort Worth, visited the Anglican facilities in the State of Chihuahua. We were to determine if there were any building opportunities at these facilities that could be addressed over short intervals, i.e. a week or less.

Numerous opportunities were identified and a catalog was developed. The information has been shared with various churches in the United States & Canada.
