Mission Funding is needed for mission work. We live in a commercially driven world. Even in the poorest communities there is an economy where money is required to operate. Members of our parish community called to be a part of a mission team, adult or youth, need our financial support for travel, accommodations, food and materials necessary for their work. Our Companion Dioceses have a desperate need of our support for basic essentials to sustain life during their trials of conflict, poverty, food shortages, and day-to-day ministry work. The Fort Worth Diocese has an established process and accounts setup to accept financial gifts for the following mission programs.
Raise funds by bringing the mission message to your parish. Host a dinner/auction fund raiser as an annual event. Your parish family will appreciate learning that the Diocese has an organization focused on mission work. This introduction may lead to a growing desire for your church to participate further in reaching out to those in need. Bishop Iker has designated the last Sunday of Epiphany as World Mission Sunday. Prayerfully consider offering envelopes for people to tithe to mission funding on this day or on a regular basis. Donations of material is generally prohibitively expensive to ship. If you feel called to offer material donations contact Lollie Twyman - e-mail lollie@fwworldmission.org Checks should be made payable to the "Episcopal Diocese of Ft. Worth" and sent to the Diocesan office at 2900 Alemeda, Ft. Worth, TX 76108. Be sure to designate the mission ministry in the memo section of the check. Your gift is tax deductible and will be acknowledged on a quarterly basis. Staying in step with progress the Diocesan office now has the capability to accept donations with a credit card. Contact the office to arrange this form of payment.
